How To Get On With Real Life After Concerts

We have all walked out of the movie theater after an amazing movie that made you believe that it was your life. Then we realize that it's not, and suddenly feel depressed about our own lives. Well I just walked out of the One Direction Concert in Auckland last night after the best night of my life but I had never felt this depressed. Sitting in front of my laptop screen now and going through all the photos and videos of the night that was already history makes my heart skip a beat and then sinks way down deep. I would like to write this post to help me and millions of people out there to face reality and enjoy their experiences.

First and foremost, I think the most important thing we all understand is that movie stars, singers and other famous people should not be treated like normal people. I know how weird and wrong that sounds but we all know it's true. We can just fall in love with them and accept anything in return from them. No response, not love no acknowledgement. Because in their eyes we are one in a million. Even if we get to interview them or meet them, to them it is their occupation to meet fans, to advertise and to evoke a wide spread infection. I am not religious, so please don't be offended. But for me, the popular stars and bands manifests the same mentalities as religion. They give an illusion to the believers that they are there and will always be there for you. The stadium and live concerts act as the church in religion where all sorts of believers congregate and makes you believe even more. They give a false sense of hope and security that real people in real lives cannot offer.

I am not saying we shouldn't believe. And I'm not saying that we shouldn't love bands like One Direction. But I think for people like me, it is very easy to loose everything in this unrealistic whirlpool of lust. Being teenagers, we need to love things and we need to scream like crazy after a while. But it's just so hard to compare this adrenaline you have for bands like One Direction to the everyday feelings you have to the real people in your real lives. So I would just like to note some tips to myself, and those of you who think this could help you get along:

1. Realize that they are all entertainers and without you and the fans they would be nothing. So feel proud of the power we have

2. They are cute, and hot. But they all have make up artists and hair designers too. There are hot people all over the place in real life that are waiting to be discovered!!

3. Celebrities all have two sides. The public side determined by the producers in order to stimulate the target market. They also have a private side that not a lot of us can get on. If you're on the private side then you shouldn't even be reading this post.

4. Except being hot and showing up at the concerts, they haven't done anything for us except make us spend a massive proportion of our income buy shirts, tickets, posters ect. Now look at our parents, friends and family that have give us so much on a daily bases. Do we scream when we see them on the side of the road waiting to pick us up? Is it fair to them?

5. We should continue to listen to their music and watch the movies but it's NOT real. None of it is. They try to reflect our lives in their lyrics and dialogues. So instead of dreaming about them, lets use what they provide us as an insight into our own lives. To help motivate us to achieve our dreams, to inspire people we love, and to love the people in our lives that we really care about!

You would have noticed I use One Direction (quite a lot) in this post but it's just an example, and one that I can relate to. We are all different but the story applies to many situations. I will always love One Direction, but we should not go beyond the point of obsession. I have wasted a lot of time thinking about if only...or what if...when i have an amazing life and a specular future ahead that I can share with my friends and family. Let's not forget what is really important. I hope I won't forget.

Get the Look - Harry Styles

Basically the other day I was watching Katy Perry's music video The One That Got Away and just below it was an advertisement to one of One Direction's songs What Makes You Beautiful. Like what any bored youtube browsers, I clicked on it. At first, I couldn't really recognize what my reactions were, but I was still determined to spend the next half an hour of my life, learning the 5 british singers' names. Harry, Liam, Zayn, Naill and Louis. I got a little mixed up at first with Harry and Liam because Liam used to have straight hair but recently permed his hair and it looks similar to Harry's. Now i just think how stupid I was to think they looked alike.

Now I've download both their music videos What Makes You Beautiful and Gotta Be You in high definition on my mac, have a playlist in iTunes named One Direction with their full album 1D and set all my wallpapers on my desktop, laptops and phone to pictures of 1D (mostly Harry Styles). Obsessive? Well the lack of 1D all over my walls shows that this time is not as bad as others.

So basically now I think I finally know why I love them so much: THE CLOTHES. Okay Harry looks gorgeous but seriously, he won me mainly by his outfit. So HOW TO LOOK LIKE HARRY SYLES?

1.  The classic cute look

This one is cheap and affordable. First head of to the closest cheap dollar store. If your in Auckland like me, there's a store in the city called Look Sharp. Doesn't look very big from the outside but you can find almost any kind of costume inside. Get a cute little funky bear trapper hat.

An unbranded plain top with some low ride jeans will do underneath an oversized American football blazer. AMAZING AND COMFORTABLE.

This is pretty much an extremely casual look especially for road trips, theme park visits or just a casual stroll under the moonlight.

2. The Stage X Factor Look

When harry suits up, he's cute look transforms into a completely masculinity. This 17 year old boy certainly has the X Factor in there somewhere. This look is expensive but is definitely worth saving up for.

Chuck on a tie, a single-breasted coat with matching pants and flick your hair a couple of times, if my prom date turned up like this, I would know that I would soon have the best time of my life.

On the stage, Harry wears a thin layer of foundation just to calm his teenage skin. After all, he's on 17. Don't expect his real skin to be as perfect as it looks. GUYS! It's alright to wear a little bit of make up at times. People will only start calling you gay if the layer of foundation gets to 1cm thick and smoky eyes.

Harry does it. He's not gay.

3. SCARFIN IT UP!

For me, one of the most outstanding fashion statements Harry has made so far is his way with scarfs. Totally stunning. Especially if you have long hair that sticks out like Harry. However attractive, the loose scarf can balance the proportions out.

An easier alternative would be a loose-necked jumper.

Paddling in Black

Oct 16th, 2011

An amazing day with spectacular events. Paddlers from all over Auckland gathered together at Westhaven Marina this morning at half past ten, dressed head to toe, in BLACK. It was honestly a once in a life time experience for me as well as the forty other paddlers.

After we got two unbranded boats in the water, we paddled our way with the beat of the drum down to the water front, screaming for the ALL BLACKS!

Wales against France in Semi Final #1

October 15, 2011

I gotta say, the game tonight was really average. I expected a lot more from the French than what they really put in: only 3 penalty kicks that got them 1 point ahead of the Welsh. I do admire their persistence and their aloofness, but at the end of the day, you're here to play balls. Another thing that was really frustrating to watch was the amount of kicking in the game. I don't really know much about rugby but I do know I like passes and tackles a lot more than just pure kicking.

In pictures: Wales 8 - 9 France - Image 1Anyways, the biggest disappointment of the game was the red card on Sam Warburton, captain of the Welsh team. All because of the tackle (on the right) that you would have missed in a blink of an eye. I honestly think Sam deserved more than just 15 minutes of the semi-final game with his team. It was just such a disappointment and you can almost hear the shock in the stadium.

So there we go, France advanced to the World Cup final with a narrow 9-8 win at Eden Park here on Saturday over a Wales team reduced to 14 men after the sending off of captain Sam Warburton with 60 minutes of the game left.

I'm really hoping to see New Zealand front up to France again in the Finals provided they beat the Wallabies tomorrow night at 9. I'm extremely anticipating the upcoming game and hope it will be much more exciting because of SONNY BILL WILLAMS and JAMES O'CONNOR! So long friends I got to sleep early tonight as I am spending my entire day in city tomorrow cheering on the All Blacks. I will be Paddling in Black at the marina close to the Cloud in the morning with our team of paddlers so watch out for us!

Johnny Depp in Cry Baby

I should have posted this a while ago, a tad busy with other stuff but HERE IT IS LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:

Johnny Depp
Oct 15, 2011

Recently this amazing actor Johnny Depp has been in a lot of movies which concealed a lot of his appearance. In movies such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Alice in Wonderland, Sweeny Todd and The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.  Well I can't really blame him because when you're acting if a movie, you'd have to be someone that not yourself, and to achieve this, you will need to conceal what is you.

But when I watched the movie Cry Baby(1990), I was completely taken away. He was honestly the sexiest man on Earth. All clean and shaved with very Elvis-looking hair, he was down to Earth HOT.

<--  BEWARE!
WATCHING THIS WILL LITERALLY GIVE YOU MULTIPLE ORGASMS

AMAZING! RIGHT? I've shown this to a couple of friends but they just told me to f off and that I was disgusting. But honestly who wouldn't want to make out with this sexy beast <3.

So long friends and followers, you are now dismissed to go searching up more sexy photos of him. Yes. I love GOOGLE IMAGES

Aussie Discovery

October 15, 2011

Rugby world cup 2011 held in NZ, as a proud kiwi, I've been watching all the games. Today, the final two quarter finals with Aussie vs South Africa and NZ vs Argentina. What really caught my eye today in the Aussie vs South Africa game was the youngster: 20 year old James O'Connor in the Aussie team.

First time I noticed him was when he converted the first try of the game. At first glance I could almost say he looked completely like a girl. So obviously I didn't pay too much attention to him. But the moment the tip of his foot touched the ball, the way he looked intensely at it really got my heart throbbing. Is it just me or is this the feminist rugby player on Earth?

There was just something about him that you can distinguish from them rest hotties. It's like as if you could notice him from a mile away.

On the other side of the spectrum, is Sonny Bill Williams in the All Black jersey. This amazing 25 year old not only plays balls, he's also a professional boxer, to an extent. He's completely masculine and hot and probably is the reason why girls are so keen to watch the Rugby World Cup in the first place.

I first actually noticed him on the opening game of All Blacks vs the Tongans the night of the opening ceremony. After watching the fireworks from a distance, I decided it was the climax of my night. After turning on the tv with some friends when I got home, I had finally found the link between me and rugby. I would always love the Tongans who ripped his shirt off <3

This clip is from the game where SBW gets the girls screaming louder than during orgasms.

The semi-final game, Aussie vs All Blacks this Sunday (TOMORROW!!) will be spectacular and I just can't wait to join the crowd at The Cloud and scream like I mean it.

What I'm hoping for? Well I'm just hoping someone's shirt gets ripped <3
